This is wonderful. Too bad we dont have the same support for our troops today. Thanks to the bleeding liberals they dont get such support these days...
Wow what a lost lot of mealy mouthed posters claiming this is sad or somehow horrible! Good grief, it is an accurate and true account of what some of your taxes are used for. It was created during a time of war against a horrible entrenchment of ideological terror that was killing millions of Jews and enslaving hundreds of thousands of Chinese by Germany and Japan respectively. Both Germany and Japan adamant on full world conquest and subjegation. I would garner a gues that most of the mealy mouthed comments that this cartoon was horrible or reflected somehow badly on American thoughts at the time are from people with a severely lacking education on world history or are too self engrossed to care or remember what Germany under Hitler and Japan under Hirohito actually did!
Sad indeed on that indictment..........

We all need to still be pulling our share for the troups
While a little heavy-handed it was the reality of the time.

This short was never "banned". There is, in fact, a difference between a government "banning" a film and a company deciding against widely circulating an old propaganda film (note: this short, and the more well-known "Der Führer's Face", was released on a special edition Disney DVD in 2004). Namely, the so-called "Third Wave" of "Walt Disney Treasures" and the video "On the Front Lines" (disc one). Not banned; self-censored. Serious difference.
I don't see whats so bad about this cartoon. Rationing was common during the war. thats what happens when your countries in a war that actually requires full effort to win! (Not just bumbper stickers!)

I have not seen that one in a long time
...but I wouldn't say "typical american"...this is just typically human.

Just goes to show you how our government will stoop to such a level!!
Too bad the government has lost our trust to spend wisely.

Being that this was banned it shows you our freedom of speech. Think about It.
How sad for humanity.

Not suprised at all. Thats the history of cartoons and especially Disney.
America's a very different place now.
Our brainwashing techniques have vastly improved. ;^)
I never thought I'd see a Donald Duck cartoon like this!...Crazy what the media wants to hammer in to the heads of kids now and then.
